Additional Information:

We are a Nehiyawewin (Cree) School Authority in Maskwacis, Alberta which includes the nations of  Louis Bull, Montana, Samson, Ermineskin, including Pigeon Lake (approximated 80 km south of Edmonton). We prioritize Cree language and culture and seek K-12 teachers who have an interest in learning about our Cree language and culture. 

Qualifications 

• Bachelor of Education degree from a University in Alberta or its equivalent
• Valid Alberta Teaching Certificate (we will work with recent graduates to attain their certificate)  
• Ability and willingness to work with students, teachers, administration, family members, visitors, government agencies, and personnel under all circumstances
• Intermittent physical activity including walking, standing, sitting, lifting, and supporting children.
• Clean criminal record check, including vulnerable sector clearance
• Prior teaching experience is an asset
• Indigenous Education is an asset
