$52,500

Hours Per Week:

40 hours per week plus overtime as required. 

Additional Information:

The Daytime/Evening Supervisor is relied upon to supervise and manage the activities of Custodian I and Custodian II employees. These Supervisors are also responsible for performing administrative tasks, managing inventory and supplies, and delivering supplies to the different sites within MESC. 

Responsibilities

The Evening Custodial Supervisor will have specific responsibilities for:

  1. Absence Management
    1. Enters their own absences and leave entitlements into Atrieve. 
    2. Reviews and approves absences and leave entitlements requests in Atrieve for employees that are assigned to them.
  2.   Supervision and Evaluation 
    1. Provides direct and active supervision of Custodian I and Custodian II employees assigned to their shifts. 
    2. Evaluate Custodian I and II employees. 
    3. Provide mentorship, training, and support to Custodian I and II employees as needed. 
  3. Communication 
    1. Communicates effectively with other members of the custodial team.
    2. Communicates directly with school principals and other supervisors regarding cleaning services that are provided by the custodial department. 
    3. Directs questions and concerns to the Facilities and Maintenance Coordinator as needed.
  4. Administrative Tasks
    1. Coordinates daytime/evening shifts and ensures Custodian I’s and II’s are present for their shifts. 
    2. Call casual custodians to fill shifts as needed. 
    3. Ensure custodial rooms are neat, clean, and organized appropriately. 
    4. Visit all MESC schools and sites regularly. 
  5. Ameresco Asset Planner Software Program
    1. Receives and assigns work order tickets in the Ameresco Asset Planner software to Custodian I and II employees. 
    2. Provides support in completing work order tickets as needed.
    3. Receives and assigns preventative maintenance using the Ameresco Asset Planner software to Custodian I and II employees. 
    4. Provides support in completing preventative maintenance as needed.
    5. Oversee custodial supplies and process orders using the Ameresco Asset Planner software. 
  6. Additional Responsibilities
    1. Participates in mandatory training programs.
    2. Attends and participates in meetings as required.  
    3. Complies  with relevant OHS regulations. 
    4. Reports issues and concerns to the Facilities and Maintenance Coordinator in a timely manner. 
    5. Complies  with MESC policies, procedures, and processes. 
    6. Completes additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Facilities and Maintenance Coordinator. 

Qualifications 

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent is recommended. 
  • Prior custodial or other safety tickets and certificates as determined by the custodial department are required. 
  • First Aid certification is required. 
  • WHMIS training is required. 
  • Experience working with MSDS information is required. 
  • Must possess and maintain, at minimum, a valid class 5 driver's license. 
  • Must qualify to be insured by MESC’s insurance provider without the Commission being charged an additional premium or surcharge.
  • Experience supervising other employees recommended.
